The E.D.G.E. Personal Training Experience is a dynamic and committed relationship between the Client and Trainer. Each Personal Training relationship starts with a comprehensive Fitness Evaluation and Consultation to assess the client’s particular ’starting point.’
The Fitness Consultation is a unique and open-ended discussion between Client and Trainer; intended to provide comprehensible answers for the Client’s specific questions, concerns, and/or personal goals regarding fitness. Similarly, this discussion will also provide the Trainer with vital information about Client’s lifestyle: weekly schedule, physical activity, stress factors, nutrition, sleep cycles, etc.
During the Fitness Consultation, the Client’s exercise history – both past and present – will be recorded. All pertinent information will be taken into consideration and later compared to the Fitness Evaluation for determination of appropriate initial training modality, intensity, and frequency. Clients will also receive a list of exercise, nutrition, and lifestyle enhancement concepts for review, and a Client-Personal Trainer Agreement form to maximize commitment and adherence to proposed training protocols.
The Fitness Evaluation is means of acquiring base-line information about Client’s physical status/prowess. The Evaluation includes:
- Completion of PAR-Q (Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire)
- Resting HR and Blood Pressure Test
- Height and Weight measurements
- Body Fat Analysis (Bioelectrical Impedance)
- Girth measurements
- Upper Body Strength Test: 10 RM Chest Press
- Lower Body Strength Test: 10 RM Squat
- Abdominal Strength Test: Max Crunches
- Active Heart Rate Test: 180 seconds of Jumping Jacks + 3 HR measurements
After the preliminary Fitness Consultation and Evaluation is concluded, the real work can begin! Based on Client preference, re-Evaluations can be set every 4, 6, or 8-week intervals to track progress.
