Ah… To be Fit…
Unfortunately, the reality of the health situation for most U.S. citizens is way off the mark as obesity, metabolic syndrome, diabetes – and all related diseases – are at an all time high. Why? This could be a fairly complicated question – depending on how many excuses could be considered legitimate… But regardless, there remains a fairly simple proposition: we are either too lazy; and/or, too conflicted by the grip of contradictory information that is incessantly solicited to us everyday. In either case scenario, E.D.G.E. is here to help.
E.D.G.E. strives to advocate and deliver the truth behind fitness; to distinguish the true concepts from the false controversy… Are you ready for it? Lesson 1…
Strength IS Overcoming Resistance.
That’s right. It is impractical to build muscle without a challenge, just like most of us can’t have a pay check with putting in some kind of work. Strength is the reward – the physical (as well as psychological) adaptation to exerting substantial effort. And with that said, exercise should NOT be easy; because if it were easy, then our results would be meager.
Don’t want IT to be easier, want YOU to be better…
It’s human nature (…or is it conditioning?) to want our environment to change for us, rather than changing ourselves. But that seldom works, does it?
In order to illicit change, to develop substantial strength, power, endurance, flexibility – any physical prowess – requires substantial work. And the truth is, it takes a lot of energy to bring into existence that which is truly desired, physically and otherwise. However, this doesn’t mean one should quit before they start, or set their expectations lower. No… instead, it would be to our advantage if we were to acknowledge the reality of our situations, strengthen our resolve, get educated on what we need to do, commit to it, and get it done; time and time again. The sooner we can process this, the sooner the construction can begin.
The road to Fitness is ALWAYS under construction…
To achieve fitness – and maintain it – is a continuous process and commitment to oneself. It is a systematical series of constructing positive habits while reconstructing negative ones. Though this process and the ultimate acquisition of fitness is not exactly easy – despite what the myriads of infomercials, drug companies, and plastic surgeons may claim; it is a worthy objective. It is a GREAT objective. Which is why E.D.G.E. provides the essential education, necessary motivation, and guided participation to stay on the correct path – avoiding obstacles and distracting detours – helping clients achieve their unique goals in a safe, practical, and effective manner.
